A Fool and His Honey is the sixth book in Charlaine Harris' Aurora Teagarden series. "Roe" is no longer working at the library after her marriage to Martin, but it seems like there is trouble in paradise when she begins uncovering some of Martin's secrets. Martin also seems less than sympathetic about Roe's sense of loss of her infertility, which is exacerbated when Martin's niece, Regina, shows up with a baby and informs them she's a newlywed.

When Roe and Martin arrive home from dinner the next day, they find a dead man in their house, the baby alone in a bedroom, and Regina nowhere to be found. Has she gone on the run after killing the man who turns out to be her husband, Craig, or has she been kidnapped by the killer? Roe and Martin head to Ohio where Martin has been letting the couple live on his farm without telling Roe.

Although I gave this book 4 stars, it does feel as though Harris had a desire to take the series in a different direction, and she needed the events in this book to play out in order to be able to get there. If you've read any of the earlier entries in the series, Roe and Martin have a significant age gap and had only a brief courtship before marrying. With Martin being new to town, this books seems to serve as a cautionary tale about not really knowing someone before you commit almost as much as being careful that the deals you make can lead to murder.
