All the Little Liars is the ninth book in Charlaine Harris' Aurora Teagarden mystery series, and it seems as though at this point, Harris wants to take Roe in a new direction. As I hinted in my review of the previous book in the series, Poppy Done to Death, Roe is faced with life changes that will make her acknowledge that she can't keep putting herself in jeopardy time and time again.
But then Roe's half-brother Phillip never comes home from school, and since an 11-year-old-girl and three other teenagers, Joss, Josh, and Clayton, are also missing, Roe worries that Phillip has gotten into some trouble, and she'll need to investigate to get him out of it. Clayton's mother announces that he's been kidnapped, and although none of the other parents have received ransom requests, the police assumes the other kids were in the wrong place at the wrong time and were all taken because they were witnesses. As Roe investigates, she discovers the kids all have secrets and some of them seem downright evil.
Overall, this is a good continuation of the series, progressing Roe's character development, but there are some editing issues, and a lot of characters to keep straight, with the teenagers having siblings and girlfriends, etc. Some characters magically appear to progress the plot, and even Harris seems to get confused about which character she's writing about at certain points.
I'm giving this one 4.3 stars which still makes it a great read in my opinion, and I'm excited to read Sleep Like a Baby, the final book in the series published to date.
